This astounding information is from 'The Doctors' Journal of Alternative Medicine'
"....the type of drugs most commonly used to treat arthritis are actually destroying joint tissue," says Dr. Braly.
'Arthritis researchers recently made a startling discovery. They found that arthritis medications and painkillers actually accelerate the destruction of joint tissue. These drugs also prevent new connective tissue from being formed in your joints. This means that the very treatment that people are taking to help their arthritis is, in reality, making the disease even worse.
"While they may reduce symptoms today, in the long run, they all make arthritis worse," says Dr. Braly. This includes many prescription treatments for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (or NSAIDS), such as aspirin, ibuprofen, indomethacin, naproxen, and many others.
Fortunately, there are many alternative treatments for arthritis that can relieve arthritis symptoms - and actually trigger the growth of healthy, new cartilage and tissue in your joints. '
If your arthritis is intense and you do take an NSAID or pain reliever, there's good news. Researchers have discovered a new way to protect your digestive tract from the damage these drugs can cause (like ulcers and internal bleeding). It's with an amino acid supplement called glutamine. The glutamine will actually form a protective lining around your digestive tract, like a Teflon coating, to protect against NSAID damage.'
Mannatech Inc. scientists, the leaders in Glyconutrition, in producing the glyconutrient products have included glucosamine hydrochloride(seafood origin) in their flagship Ambrotose which give optimal health and well-being.

Iodine - Crucial in Your Diet
Taken from 'Your Doctor' - May 2006
Iodine is known as a micronutrient because only very small amounts are needed, Over a life time each person requires only on e teaspoon of iodine. But it is essential for growth, mental and physical health. Lack of it can produce thyroid disease, and too much can be harmful.
Iodine cannot be stored in the body, so small amounts must be consumed regularly.
The richest natural food sources of iodine are seafood and seaweed (such as kelp and nori). Despite coming from the ocean, sea salt is not a good source of iodine. Varying amounts of iodine are found in vegetables, some fruits, eggs, meat and dairy products. The quantity depends on the concentration of iodine in the soils in which they were produced. Plants do not require iodine, but take up small amounts through their roots. Many parts of the world have soils that are low in iodine.
The main source of iodine for many people is iodised (iodine enriched) salt.
A recent study has shown that many schoolchildren are becoming deficient in iodine. This may be due to:
- Health authorities recommending minimising salt intake (reduce the risk of high blood pressure), the reduction in the use of salt in cooking and table salt (particularly iodised salt).
- The use of sea salt flakes instead of iodised salt.
- Few manufacturers of processed foods using iodised salt.
- The dairy industry ceasing to use sanitisers containing iodine on the equipment.
- Iodine levels in soils dropping.
Anyone on a low-salt diet should consider eating an extra serve of seafood every week to make sure his or her iodine level is adequate. This includes pregnant women, as lack of iodine can retard normal development of their baby. Vegetarians should get iodine from iodised salt or seaweed.
Mannatech Inc. supplying glyconutrients, includes their produce Undaria which is a glyconutrition dietary supplement containing kelp, giving optimum health and well-being.

Glyconutrients Necessary for Every Cell
Taken from 'The Missing Nutrients' by Dr Steve Nugent.
Glyconutrients are necessary for every cell of your body. It would be nice if all of your cells were born at the same moment and died on a given predictable moment. But that's not the way it works. When you take glyconutrients orally, you are attempting to maintain the glycosylation of all of the cells of your body.
Cells are constantly being born and dying. Your trillions of cells have different life spans. Some of them live for hours and some live for years, and virtually every time period in between. We cannot predict which cells will receive their full, necessary complement of glyconutrients, nor can we predict how many will get glyconutrients they need with each dose taken. It is theoretically possible to take an oral dose of glyconutrients, supply 500,000 cells with glyconutrients they need, and have 100,000 of those cells continue to live on while 400,000 of them expire 5 minutes after your glyconutrients have been ingested. The expired cells are being replaced by cells that also need the 8 necessary glyconutrients, and you may or may not have sufficient glyconutrients available at the moment to get the job done.
Mannatech Inc. supplys natural Glyconutrients which are not only vital for the function of cells but for the correct structure of a cell as well.

Beads of Antiquity
Taken from Creation Magazine Vo. 26 No. 4- Science, 16/4/2004, New Scientist, 24/4/2004
The oldest known jewellery Yet? Beads from South Africa made of snail shell have been dated to about 75,000 years ago - more than 30,000 years older than any previously discovered personal adornment.
The find is a surprise for many archaeologist, who had not expected evidence of such early cultural complexity and modern human behaviour. It shows the people who made the beads had well-developed language with a grammatical structure. 'They must have had a way of describing the symbolic message that the beads represent,' said one researcher.
Other beads, made of ostrich shell, have been found in east Africa and researchers have provisionally ascribed an age ranging from 45,000 up to 110,000 years old. This, too, is confronting to many archaeologists who had not expected such evidence of creativity in early man.
Glyconutrients were discovered by researchers at Mannatech Inc., which give optimal health and wellbeing. Glycobiology is an exciting study giving improvements to health and wellness.

Enhancing the Synthesis of Cytokines
The Real Story that ABC’s 20/20 Investigators Missed
ABC’s US 20/20 story on Mannatech – Why did ABC not finish their investigation on Mannatech?
By Mark Johnson, June 2, 2007
'...... ABC failed to mention that Dr. McDaniel is one of the co-inventors listed on the Mannatech
Ambrotose patent, that he has been doing clinical research with hundreds of patients over the
past quarter century, and that he is the founder of the Fisher Institute for Medical Research.
ABC should have known that Dr. McDaniel, as a professional witness, testified before Congress
on Comprehensive Medical Care for Bioterrorism Exposure. At that historic event, Dr.
McDaniel’s exhibits and scientific data showed that “glyconutrients boost the level of innate
body defenses by enhancing the synthesis of cytokines that are designed to protect the body
from ALL infectious agents.” (http://www.fisherinstitute.org – complete syllabus available for anyone).'
Mannatech filmed the interview between the ABC reporter and CEO Sam Caster. To see

Prostate Cancer Resurgence
It is now known that prostate cancer diagnoses is more prevalent than breast cancer. This extract is from -
Prostate cancer now number one and rising - Adam Cresswell, Health editor 28 June 2007
'There is a renewed surge in testing for prostate cancer which is partly driving the increase in diagnoses. Tests for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) - a marker in blood that usually rises when a prostate cancer is growing - shot up by 42 per cent, from 492,147 tests in 2001-02 to 698,828 in 2005-06, partly driven by greater awareness and by the ageing male population.
Prostate cancer is still behind lung cancer as the biggest cause of cancer deaths in men. In 2003, 4506 men died of lung-related cancers and 2837 died from prostate cancer.
The most commonly diagnosed cancers in men and women after prostate and colorectal cancer are of the breast (11,889 new cases in 2003), melanoma (9524) and lung cancer (8249).'
No product can directly cure, mitigate or prevent any disease, but what antioxidants do is support your body's natural ability to defend, protect and repair cells against stress and premature ageing. Mannatech Inc. cutting-edge scientists produce products empower your body to defend, protect and repair giving optimal health and wellness.
