Asthma and Aloe Vera

Taken from The Miracle in Aloe Vera by Dr. Neecie Moore
'As a folk medicine, Aloe is used to aid in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis by the native trives of Java. They also use a mixture of Aloe and rose water to cure tuberculosis (Skousen).
Akira Yagi (1987), found that a six-month oral administration of an Aloe extract showed efficacy for chronic bronchial asthmatics of various ages. In addition, Yagi found it significant that the extract was not efficacious for patients who had previously been administered corticosteroid.
As a topical agent, Aloe has been reported effective in treating respiratory tract disorders. A New Jersey physician (J.E. Thompson,1991) has used a Beta (1.4) mannan Aloe gel for the treatment of post treatment epistaxis, nasal polyps, allergic rhinitis, non-specific rhinitis, and various skin inflammations. "In the respiratory tract, results are startling, taking place in hours to several days." Further, "The Carrington allantoin gotten from the Aloe vera plant seems to keep the admirable qualities of its root substances while in respiratory tract use, namely exerting a potent healing stimulus effect with virtually no discernible side effect or contraindications. ....... It may prove to be of inestimable importance" (Thompson, 1991, 119).'

It certainly has proved to be important as Mannatech and Sam Caster has used Aloe vera in its glyconutrient products with great success. Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years for healing. Glyconutrients are essential for maximum optimal health and well being.
